In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and taken to the airport for a quick 45-minute flight to Mikumi National Park. Once you arrive at Kikoboga Airstrip, you’ll meet your driver guide, who will take you on a thrilling full-day game drive. Breakfast will be served inside the park to kick off your adventure.
You’ll enjoy a full day of wildlife viewing in Mikumi National Park, with a packed lunch provided to make the most of your time on the game drive. After an early breakfast around 6:30, you’ll set off from Mikumi for a scenic 8 to 9-hour journey to Nyerere National Park, taking in the stunning landscapes and attractions of Tanzania along the way. You’ll enjoy a hot lunch during the trip. Upon arrival at Nyerere National Park, you’ll take a short break at the Camp before heading out for a boat safari along the majestic Rufiji River.
This unique game-viewing experience on the Rufiji River offers fantastic opportunities to spot hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. Before sunset, there will be a sundowner stop on a sandbank, allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking views. After witnessing the sunset, you’ll return to the Camp for a delightful dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

By midday, you’ll savor a delightful lunch at one of the park’s scenic picnic spots. The rest of the day will be filled with game viewing, bird watching, and stops at various waterholes. On this day, you’ll start your morning with a bushwalking tour alongside bushmen at around 6:30 AM, where you’ll discover fascinating plants and animal species while immersing yourself in the beauty of nature and landscapes. After two hours of exploration, you’ll return to the camp for breakfast.
Following breakfast, you’ll check out from the camp and begin your journey to Dar es Salaam. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel, the airport, or the ferry terminal for your boat ride to Zanzibar.
