On a 6-Day Nyerere National Park (Selous) Safari combined with a Mafia Escape, you can expect a diverse and enriching experience. During your time in Nyerere National Park, anticipate thrilling game drives that bring you face-to-face with iconic African wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, and various antelope species. The park is also home to an impressive array of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. In Mafia, expect a laid-back atmosphere, with opportunities to explore the island’s marine life, including sea turtles and colorful fish.
After an early breakfast, you will take a 4-hour drive to Nyerere National Park. Once you arrive, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon at around 3:45, embark on a scenic boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. This unique experience allows you to view hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species from the water, providing a different perspective of the park’s stunning landscapes.

Spend the entire day exploring Nyerere National Park (Selous). Discover the park’s rich biodiversity as you traverse its vast terrains. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush, surrounded by nature, before continuing your wildlife adventure. Return to the Camp in the evening for overnight.

This day in the early morning at around 6:30 AM, you will go for a bush walk with bushmen and see interesting plants and animal species as well as enjoy nature and landscapes. After 2 hours of walking, return to the camp for breakfast before driving back to Dar es Salaam.
On arrival at the airport in Dar es Salaam, you will take a short flight to Mafia Island, where you will check into your beachfront accommodation. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beautiful shores or exploring the local area.
Dinner and overnight at Butiama Beach

Indulge in two full days of relaxation on Mafia Island. You can choose to lounge on the beach, swim in the crystal-clear waters, or participate in exciting water activities like snorkeling and diving. Explore the vibrant coral reefs and marine life that Mafia Island is famous for, or take a boat trip to nearby islands.
Overnight at Butiama Beach

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some final moments on the beach before preparing for your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a last swim or stroll before transferring back to Dar es Salaam for your onward journey.
