The trek begins across open shrubland and giant heather, offering gentle walking and wide views as your body adjusts to altitude. The day ends at Simba Camp, set on the edge of the Shira Plateau.

Day 2Simba Camp – Shira 2 Camp

This day focuses on acclimatization while crossing the vast Shira Plateau. The trail passes through grassy moorland and volcanic rock formations, with a visit to the impressive Shira Cathedral. The steady pace and open terrain make this an enjoyable and important adaptation day before reaching Shira 2 Camp.

Day 3Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp

The route ascends toward Lava Tower, a dramatic volcanic landmark used for high-altitude exposure. After spending time at this elevation, the trail descends into the Senecio Forest, arriving at Barranco Camp. This climb-high, sleep-low approach greatly supports acclimatization and comfort.

Day 6Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp

The summit attempt begins just after midnight, with a challenging ascent to Stella Point followed by the final push to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating the achievement, you descend to Barafu Camp for rest and lunch before continuing down to Mweka Camp in the rainforest zone.

Day 7Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi

A gentle descent through lush rainforest leads to Mweka Gate, marking the official end of the climb. Summit certificates are awarded before transferring back to your hotel in Moshi, where you can relax and celebrate your Kilimanjaro success.
