You’ll be picked up from the airport or your hotel in Dar es Salaam and driven south along the coast (5–6 hours) to your selected beach lodge in either Kilwa or Sadaani, depending on your preferred coastal destination. Arrive in time for a sunset walk and oceanfront dinner.
Spend the day relaxing on the beach, enjoying optional activities like swimming, kayaking, dhow sailing, or village visits. The area is peaceful and less touristy than northern beaches, offering a more authentic escape. Overnight at the beach lodge.
Enjoy another free day to unwind or choose to explore nearby cultural and historical sites such as Kilwa Kisiwani ruins (UNESCO World Heritage Site) or take a guided mangrove walk if staying in Sadaani. Overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, depart for Nyerere National Park, a 5–6 hour inland journey through rural landscapes and villages. Arrive in time for a late lunch at your tented safari lodge by the Rufiji River.
In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat safari, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife in a calm riverine environment. Dinner and overnight in the bush.
After an early breakfast, set off for a full-day game drive through the wild terrain of Nyerere. The park is home to elephants, giraffes, lions, leopards, wild dogs, buffalo, impalas, and much more.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the bush and continue exploring diverse habitats throughout the afternoon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Choose between a morning game drive or a guided bush walk (optional) to observe flora and fauna up close. After brunch, relax at camp or enjoy the sounds of the bush from your veranda.
Your final dinner under the stars rounds off your time in the wilderness.
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Dar es Salaam, arriving in the late afternoon. Drop-off at your hotel or airport concludes your southern Tanzania experience.
