On a 8-Day Nyerere National Park (Selous) Safari combined with a Mafia Escape, you can expect a diverse and enriching experience. During your time in Nyerere National Park, anticipate thrilling game drives that bring you face-to-face with iconic African wildlife, including elephants, buffalo, lions, and various antelope species. The park is also home to an impressive array of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers.
In Mafia, expect a laid-back atmosphere, with opportunities to explore the island’s marine life, including sea turtles and colorful fish.
On arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport at around 02:25 with a Turkish Airline you will meet your driver for your transfer to Nyerere Tented Camp arriving in the time for breakfast. A transfer will take about 4-hour drive. You will have a short rest before your afternoon sunset boat safari.
At around 3:45, embark on a scenic boat safari on the mighty Rufiji River. This unique experience allows you to view hippos, crocodiles, and numerous bird species from the water, providing a different perspective of the park’s stunning landscapes.

This morning you will enjoy a full breakfast before departing on a full day of game viewing in the Nyerere National Park. In the midday, you have your lunch at the scenic picnic point within a park.
Enjoy the thrill of spotting impala, lion, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, elephant, buffalo, and kudu, among other animals. Your entire day will be spent on game viewing, bird watching, and stopping off at the various waterholes en route. You depart the park in the late afternoon and return to the lodge for an evening of relaxation.

On arrival at the airport in Dar es Salaam, you will take a short flight to Mafia Island, where you will check into your ocean front accommodation.
