Located a short boat ride from the airport at Songosongo island (south of Mafia island), Fanjove is the private Island just off the coast of Tanzania, with palm-fringed, powder-white sands and glistening turquoise waters. The Island can be accessed by air to the neighboring island, Songo Songo, and a 30-minute boat transfer. Activities in Fanjove Island include snorkeling, diving, kayaking, dolphin excursions, dhow sailing, and fishing.

Depending on the time of year, you might have the chance to swim with dolphins, spot humpback whales from a boat, or watch green turtles nesting on Fanjove beach. But also, you have a chance to choose a range of activities like kayaking, dhow sailing, and Bird watching. Start off with three days of Safari and game viewing activities, followed by four nights of complete relaxation and marine adventures on the secluded Fanjove Island.
This morning you will take up a 45 minutes flight from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park. On arrival, our guide will take you to Siwandu Safari Camp situated on the shore of Lake Nzerekera in the northern section of the reserve. After your orientation briefing, you will have time to settle into your tented accommodation overlooking the lake before embarking on different activities.

Each morning after breakfast you will have a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park (former Selous Game Reserve). The park is home to diverse wildlife, with more than half of Tanzania’s elephant population, over 40,000 hippos, the largest population of lions on the continent and is well known for the wild dog sightings. After an extensive game drive, you will return to the Camp overnight.

On this day you will take a 45 minutes flight to Songo Songo Island via Mafia Island from Dar es Salaam. From Songo Songo Island you will sail over Fanjove Island. You will disembark straight into the crystal-clear warm waters and onto the beach in front of the historical lighthouse built in the year 1863. A refreshing cooled flannel and freshly prepared coconut drink are offered with delightful smiles and warmth.
You will spend two days exploring Fanjove Island doing different activities. Each morning you will discuss with your Activities Manager things to do. You have a variety to choose from a range of activities like a sunset trip on a dhow sailing boat, kayaking, dolphin/whale excursion, and Bird watching.
