Itinerary

Day 1Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park

After breakfast at around 6:30, set off from Dar es Salaam for a scenic 6 to 7-hour journey to Mikumi National Park via Chalinze and Morogoro, immersing ourselves in Tanzania’s captivating landscapes and landmarks. Enjoy a hot lunch en route. Upon arrival at Mikumi National Park, take a brief break at the Camp before embarking on a 1 to 2-hour Maasai Cultural tour, offering a unique cultural experience. Later, return to the Camp for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2Full Day Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

This morning, after breakfast, embark on a journey to Mikumi National Park for an exhilarating full-day game drive, taking a packed lunch to maximize your wildlife viewing time. The park boasts a diverse range of wildlife, including buffalo, wildebeest, zebra, lion, elephant, impala, hippos, baboon, giraffe, warthog, waterbuck, and eland, offering year-round sightings.

The park is also home to reptiles like crocodiles, monitor lizards, and pythons. Keep an eye out for rare sightings such as the Sable Antelope, Greater Kudu, leopard, and wild dogs, enhancing your safari experience in this stunning natural habitat.

Day 3Mikumi to Nyerere National Park (Selous)

Following an early breakfast around 6:30, set off from Mikumi for a scenic 8 to 9-hour journey to Nyerere National Park, immersing yourself in Tanzania’s breathtaking landscapes and attractions along the way. Enjoy a hot lunch during the trip. Upon reaching Nyerere National Park, take a brief break at the Camp before embarking on a boat safari along the majestic Rufiji River.

Uniquely, the Rufiji River game viewing experience promises abundant sightings of hippos and crocodiles as well as a variety of bird species. Before the sun went off you will have a sundowner stop in the sandbank. After witnessing the sunset, head back to the Camp for a delightful dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4Early Morning Bush Walk and Game Drive

Today you will be woken up for early morning coffee and tea before departing for a bush walk set at 6:30 AM. Guided by a qualified bush guide, we learn about nature’s finer details like bird, tree, and spoor identification. You will be back at the camp at 8:30 am for the full breakfast.

After the full breakfast, your wildlife adventure kicks off as you enter the park, venturing into prime game viewing areas to witness the incredible animals in their natural habitat. Get ready for the excitement of spotting impalas, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, elephants, buffaloes, kudus, and more fascinating wildlife.

By midday, relish a delightful lunch at one of the picturesque picnic spots within the park. Spend the rest of the day immersed in game viewing, bird watching, and making stops at various waterholes along the way. As the day winds down, exit the park in the late afternoon and head back to the camp for a tranquil evening of relaxation.

Day 5Morning Breakfast & Fly to Zanzibar + Transfer to Hotel

As your incredible safari adventure comes to an end, you’ll enjoy your final breakfast in Nyerere Tented Camp before being transferred to the airstrip for a scenic flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival in Zanzibar, you will be transferred to your hotel. This journey has been truly remarkable, and you’ll return home with unforgettable photos and captivating stories to share with your loved ones.
