1 Hour Before Flight Time
On this safari tour expect to see the unspoiled beauty, a few crowds, and encounter wildlife in the park where semi-aquatic and aquatic mammals are plentiful. The park is home to a wide range of wildlife species such as impalas, African wild dogs, warthogs, lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, greater kudu, and many more.
You’ll have a morning pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar for your scheduled flight to Nyerere National Park (Selous). On arrival, you will be met by a representative for the road transfer to your lodge, where you will have a full breakfast. After breakfast, you will then enjoy an exciting and thrilling full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park, taking a packed lunch with you to maximize your game drive time.
During the day, your guide will visit a scenic picnic spot for a lunch stop. This allows time for a meal and to stretch the legs before setting off to explore more of the African bush. Our wildlife viewing stats show that you’ll see most of the iconic species, such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, hyenas, and various antelope species on every safari. Your day will invariably end with a good dinner and some reminiscing about the day’s sightings.
After breakfast, at 8:00 am, immerse yourself in the rich culture of the Maasai people, learning about their traditions, way of life, and vibrant culture. Following the Maasai Village tour, embark on an unforgettable boat safari in the mighty Rufiji River. From 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, glide across the waters, taking in the stunning scenery and wildlife.
As the day winds down, return to camp for a delicious hot lunch. Depending on your flight schedule, we’ll arrange for an afternoon pickup from the camp to the airstrip, ensuring you catch your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival on the island, your driver will transfer you to your hotel. It’s been an incredible tour, filled with moments you’ll want to share with family and friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Embark on a 4-day midrange Nyerere National Park safari from Dar es Salaam, exploring the park’s savannahs, rivers, and general landscape.
