Itinerary

Day 1 Hotel Pickup + Flight Transfer to Mikumi + Game Drive + Overnight at the Lodge Inside the Park

You’ll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar early in the morning. Transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your scheduled flight to Mikumi. Enjoy a scenic flight over the Tanzanian landscape. Upon arrival at Mikumi airstrip, you’ll be met by your experienced safari guide in a 4×4 safari vehicle.
 
Embark on your first game drive, immediately immersing yourself in the wildlife-rich environment. The guide will take you through the park, pointing out the various animals and sharing their knowledge of the local flora and fauna. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst the stunning scenery of Mikumi National Park.
 
Continue your game drive, exploring different areas of the park, including the Mkata Plains, known for its large herds of elephants, zebras, and other herbivores. Keep an eye out for predators such as lions, leopards, and wild dogs. In the late afternoon, check into your lodge or camp inside Mikumi National Park. Settle in and freshen up before dinner.

Day 2Early Morning Game Drive + Flight Back to Zanzibar + Airport Transfer

Wake up early for a sunrise game drive. This is often the best time to see wildlife, as animals are most active during the cooler hours of the day. Your guide will take you to prime locations for animal sightings. Return to the lodge for hot lunch. After lunch, you will have a final opportunity for a short game drive. Later, drive to the airstrip for your flight back to Zanzibar. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, you will be met and transferred back to your hotel in Zanzibar.
