In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Zanzibar and taken to the airport for a quick 30-minute flight to Nyerere National Park, which was formerly known as the Selous Game Reserve. Upon landing at Selous Mtemere Airstrip, your driver guide will be waiting to transfer you to Nyerere Tented Camp, just a short drive away, where you can enjoy a delicious full breakfast.
After breakfast, get ready for an exciting day of game viewing in Nyerere National Park. To make the most of your time, you’ll take a packed lunch with you. You’ll stop for a picnic at a safe vantage point, allowing you to soak in the stunning scenery and observe wildlife in their natural habitat. After a day filled with incredible game drives, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and a restful overnight stay.

On this day, at 9:30 AM, you’ll embark on a Maasai Boma tour, where you’ll have the chance to explore the local area, observe the daily lives of the Maasai people, and learn about their rich culture. After the village tour, you’ll head back to the camp for lunch at 1:00 PM.
Following a hearty lunch, you’ll set off around 3:45 PM for an adventurous and romantic sunset boat safari along the magnificent Rufiji River. This experience provides a wonderful opportunity to spot diverse birdlife, hippos, and crocodiles while taking in the breathtaking sunset. Your guide will share insights about interesting bird species and local plants during the trip. After the boat safari, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.
Overnight at Nyerere Tented Camp

On this day, you’ll start your morning early with a bushwalking tour alongside local bushmen, where you’ll discover fascinating plants and animal species while soaking in the beauty of the landscapes. After about two hours of hiking, you’ll return to the camp for a hearty breakfast around 8:30 AM.
After breakfast, you’ll check out from the camp and make your way to Dar es Salaam. You’ll be dropped off at your hotel, or the airport. It’s been an incredible trip, and you’ll leave with amazing photos and stories to share with your friends and family back home.
