Itinerary

Day 1Arusha – Ngorongoro – Ndutu

Drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to the southernmost point of the Serengeti, the Ndutu area. Here are in all likelihood in the months of December – March large parts of the huge migratory herds that use this site to raise the newborn calves to continue walking. Extensive game drive in the midst of about 2 million wildebeest and zebras. This season attracts hordes of predators prying on vulnerable young wildebeest. Crested with Ndutu lake and Lake Masek, these waterholes offer plenty of wildlife game during the dry season.

Day 2Ndutu - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

In the morning after breakfast will have an extensive game drive in the Ndutu after a good breakfast. After completing a half-day game drive along with a picnic lunch, we will head towards the Ngorongoro crater rim. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq. km with a depth of over 2000 feet. It is particularly impressive that in this rather small space you can see practically the complete biodiversity of the East African Savannah (with the exception of the giraffe) on a single safari.

Day 3Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

After a rich breakfast you will descend the steep slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater. Here you can find a complete cross-section of the species-rich wildlife of the East African Savannas on just a few square kilometers. Of course, this is also one of the best places to get one of the endangered black rhinos in front of the camera lens. But there are also indescribable wildlife observations including all big five – lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard. After an extensive game drive and a picnic in the crater, you leave the highlands and head back to Arusha, where you will arrive in the early evening.
