Zanzibar – The semi-autonomous part of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean is a paradise for beach-goers and divers. It is an archipelago of historic islands in the Indian Ocean, flooded with atmosphere, intrigue and idyllic beach experiences. Nungwi and Kendwa in the north are the best beaches on the island. Really beautiful & classic paradise in the Indian Ocean with turquoise waters and really white sand. Pongwe in the east, the only beach in eastern Zanzibar that is not tidal. The tide is always there! Not to compare with the long, sprawling beaches of the north, but the beach is not as crowded as in the north. Paje & Donge in the east and just east of Nungwi, Matemwe in the northeast offer you good beaches.
Zanzibar is booming as a destination, with backpackers and luxury beach vacationers. As a result, there are many fantastic Boutique hotels to choose from. Whether for honeymoon, family vacation or relaxation after the safari there are many activities for every traveler.
Explore Stone Town, the island’s capital and a historic commercial and cultural center. This ancient center was the seat of the sultans, whose crumbling palaces, bathhouses and mosques are a legacy of this opulent and vibrant time in the heart of the gold trade. The labyrinthine streets are lined with merchants selling everything from mass-produced artwork to old wooden doors, from batik T-shirts to jewels.
This old city remains a wonderful place to spend a night or two admiring the elegant old buildings, eating fresh fish by the sea and breathing in the sights, sounds and smells of a real Swahili center. Today, there are a number of boutique hotels in Stone Town that have been recently renovated. In front of the east and north coast of Zanzibar there are excellent reefs with colorful marine life.
The best time to visit the Zanzibar Archipelago is from July to mid October — the dry season.
The months between December and March are hot and dry and similarly, a good time to visit Zanzibar. These months are generally a little quieter than the June to October.
The rainy season is very high between April and May, even in November it can come to tropical showers and thunderstorms. Average max. Temp. 28-34 ° C and average min. Temp. 19-22 ° C.
