Tanzania Southern Safari – Wild, Remote & Untamed
The Tanzania’s Southern Circuit Safari offers an incredible adventure through some of the country’s most stunning and less-traveled national parks. Located in the southern part of Tanzania, this circuit includes several parks such as Ruaha National Park – a big cat territory with large elephant populations and dramatic baobab landscapes, Nyerere National Park– characterized by vast wilderness, river-based safaris, and large predator populations, Mikumi National Park – characterized by open plains and abundant wildlife, and Udzungwa Mountains National Park. – a non-game-drive park characterized by lush rainforests, high biodiversity, rare primates, and spectacular waterfalls.
Getting to the Southern Circuit is relatively easy, with a road transfer from Dar es Salaam, or domestic flights making it accessible for travelers. It is also conveniently close to Zanzibar and Mafia Island, making it the perfect combination for those looking to enjoy both the bush and beautiful beaches. The southern circuit offer a variety of activities including game drives, walking safaris, boat safaris, bird-watching, fly camping experiences, Hiking in Udzungwa Mountains, and cultural visits to local communities.
The dry season (June to October) is the best time for wildlife viewing as animals gather around water sources. The green season (November to March) offers lush scenery, birdwatching, and fewer visitors. April and May are rainy but offer lower rates and dramatic landscapes.
